ChatGPT & Claude
The PoliTraQ connector
Ask about Canadian (federal, provincial and territorial) and US-Congress parliamentary activity inside ChatGPT and Claude, answered from the public record: debates, gazettes, bills, committees, registered lobbying and member profiles.
It is read-only and uses public-record data only. There is no PoliTraQ account and no login. Answers reflect the data PoliTraQ has ingested and are not legal or official advice.
Add it
Connector address (no authentication):
https://mcp.politraq.com/mcp
- Claude: add a custom connector (in Settings, under Connectors) with the address above, then enable it from the tools menu in a chat. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add it.
- ChatGPT: once PoliTraQ is listed, add it from ChatGPT’s directory. Until then, in developer mode, create a connector with the address above and no authentication, then select it in a chat.
Try: “Using PoliTraQ, which committees deal with finance, and in which legislature is each?”

Everything the connector returns is public record that PoliTraQ catalogues: debates (Hansard), official gazettes and notices, bills, committees, publicly filed lobbying registrations and communications, and the public profiles of elected and appointed members. It never accesses private, subscriber or customer data. The only information about you that we handle is the request your assistant sends us, described below.
Your requests
- There is no PoliTraQ account, login, cookie or advertising tracking. Requests are not associated with a PoliTraQ account.
- The connector’s own logs record which tool ran, how long it took and whether it succeeded.
- The search terms your assistant sends to PoliTraQ (for example a name, topic or search phrase) can appear in our server logs, including in request addresses. These terms are whatever the assistant sends, so they can include identifying details if you type them — please avoid including sensitive personal information in your questions.
- Our hosting logs standard request metadata: the network address the request came from, the user agent, the time and the requested path. For ChatGPT and Claude, requests come from the AI platform’s servers, not from your device; if you connect from a local MCP client, the address is your own.
- Our current log-retention setting is 30 days. Error logs are also sent to our monitoring provider, Datadog, and kept under its retention.
Who processes it
We do not sell data or use it for advertising. The connector and PoliTraQ’s API run on Google Cloud, with the connector in Google Cloud’s Toronto region. Debate and gazette searches run on our search index, hosted with Elastic Cloud. The knowledge graph that other questions are answered from runs on servers PoliTraQ operates, reached over a private network. Error logs go to Datadog, as above. Answers go back to the AI platform you chose (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude), whose own privacy policy governs your conversation.
Children
The connector is a general-audience research tool and is not directed to children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date above will change when we do. To ask about or request deletion of log data, or for any other question, email info@politraq.com; logs otherwise expire under the retention settings above.
Terms
- The connector is an informational, read-only service. It cannot post, change or submit anything.
- Results come from public records as ingested by PoliTraQ and may be incomplete or out of date. They are not legal, official or professional advice; check the original record for anything you rely on.
- Access is rate-limited, and automated abuse may be blocked.

- Use of the connector is also subject to the PoliTraQ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
